Well, I didn't set out looking for a date, but I ended up with one anyhow. I kept a blog for several years, which I'd then just recently decided to start posting on a livejournal as well (because no one on LiveJournal wants to have to read something outside their friends lists!).

My future SO was bored and lonely one night, so he wrote a script to search the LiveJournal interests list of everyone in the state, and then matched them up against his... giving higher weights to some things and lower to others. Then it added the AIM screen names of the top finishers to his buddy list, so he could send them messages. Well, I came up on top of his list! A few weeks of messages later, we had our first date, and a few months later, he had moved in...

The moral of this story, I suppose, would be: always fill out your interest lists. :-)
