All about dating pictures
From Internet Personals
- First and foremost: don't put up a fake picture! Don't even think about it. Sure, it might get you some more attention temporarily. But it'll only set you up for a bad time.
- Do not send pictures of your genitalia, unless it has been specifically requested. I shouldn't even have to say this, but from all accounts, I do. "Please send me a pic of yourself" does not equal "I want to see your penis". Honest. Most women would like to get acquainted with the rest of you long before she is willing to even shake hands with your penis, and until then she probably doesn't want to see it. If she does want to, you'll know it.
- Do have a picture to send. Ads with pictures get a lot more attention. (If you're insistent that people not judge you on your looks, that's fine: but do expect not to get as much attention!) So you don't have a digital camera. Your friends do, your family does, and it seems like every corner drugstore will scan photos and put them on CD. People are going to wonder why you aren't putting a picture up, if you don't: do you have something to hide? Well, maybe you do... but they're going to find out anyway, and you don't want the ones who'd reject you for it anyway.
- No glamour shots! Most "glamour photos" you can buy at those studios in the mall look awful, overdone, and not very much like you.
- Do choose a photo of you that looks natural. Don't try too hard! Choose something that looks like you at your best: not too made up, not in trashy lingerie (or—eep!—nothing at all), not something where you only get a blurry view of the back of your head. Shots with personality are good: have a photo at the piano if you're a musician, with your dog if you're a pet lover, playing ball if you're a sports nut and you want to find someone likely to share what you love.
